Recovery for Every Body

You may have heard the term “recovery” floating around lately.  What does this term mean? As it pertains to wellness, it is the process of speeding up your down time from a workout, helping the body to optimize its “recovery” period from a stressful event – even chronic stress.  We do this through the use of stretch therapy, compression therapy, and infrared sauna.

Compression Therapy

Compression therapy started as a treatment for lymphedema to improve patients' circulation and remove waste from the lymphatic system. Then professional athletes caught on and started using compression boots to speed up their recovery between games. Now, this effective treatment is available to the general public and you can benefit today.  Speed up healing from an injury, remove waste build-up, reduce inflammation, and increase blood circulation. The increased blood circulation brings oxygen and nutrients to the muscles that need it most.  In turn, you will experience less soreness, pain, and less swelling.

Infrared Sauna

Infrared sauna is not your typical sauna experience. The key differences are the temperature and the healing properties. Full-spectrum infrared sauna heats the body itself versus the method of a traditional sauna, which heats the air. This way, you do not have to sit in a 180 degree hot box.  The temperature only needs to be between 100 - 130 degrees to benefit. By targeting the tissues of the body with near, mid, and far-infrared waves, waste in our cells get pushed out and can exit the body through sweat and the kidneys. The result is a deep detoxification, improving sleep, weight loss,  joint pain relief, decreased muscle soreness, and a boost in energy.  Twenty to thirty minutes in an infrared sauna three times a week is the best protocol to see these benefits.

Stretch Therapy

Stretch therapy targets built up tension and stiffness from long hours of sitting, acute and chronic stress, and from working out. By utilizing stretch therapy at least two times per week, you can prevent injury, decrease pain and increase range of motion.  When you have better range of motion during a workout, you can move more efficiently and gain better results.  Another important benefit from stretch therapy is improved joint imbalances. This also further helps prevent injuries and enables efficient daily movement.
